The Denver Orbital Trail, or DOT for short, is a new walking route that makes a full circle around metro Denver.
To complete the 177-mile circuit around Denver, the DOT connects existing trails, parks, and greenways in four counties and more than a dozen cities and towns, all over the region. No matter where you are along the route, discover something to love.
The full trail is split into 28 shorter segments, perfect for day hikes. All segments have parking available, and many are accessible by public transportation, too.
Walk just a little bit, or set a goal to do it all. Start with Segment 1, the one nearest you, or any segment you'd like. However you DOT, you can't go wrong. What are you waiting for?
The DOT is an epic adventure, ready for discovery
Find yourself immersed in mountain wilderness, admiring incredible vistas, and hiking through crowds of prairie dogs. All of this, and more.

The DOT uses existing trails and is almost entirely off road
From the High Line Canal to the Ralston Creek Trail and everything in between, the DOT relies almost entirely on existing trails and is more than 85% off road.

We've checked the entire DOT so that you can follow the route as mapped
We've carefully checked the mapped route for accuracy. We can't guarantee current trail conditions, of course, but we have walked the trail and tested that it works as mapped.
